College: Sokolowski played indoors at the University of Louisville after graduating high school at the age of 15. As a 15-year old freshman, she tallied 316 kills and 30 aces. She left the school as the all-time leader in kills (1,861) as Louisville played in the NCAA Tournament all four of her years there. Sokolowski was an AVCA Second-Team All-American and the 2005 Big East MVP as a senior.
Personal: Formerly Lena Ustymenko, Sokolowski's club team was the Ukrainian National Champions in both 1998 and 2002. Even during her time at Louisville Sokolowski was a member of the Ukrainian National Team. Following graduation she played professionally in Turkey.
