Seamon was a libero at Central Connecticut State, where as a freshman she was named second-team all-Northeast Conference. She earned the same honor her sophomore season, when she ranked second in the league in digs per game (4.16). Seamon then transferred to Rutgers-New Brunswick, where she graduated with a degree in history.
In high school Seamon helped her Union Catholic team to the state finals three times. She has two older sisters (Bridget and Rachel), and one younger brother (Mike), who plays professional soccer.
In the summer of 2010 Seamon competed in the CBS reality show "The Amazing Race."
