College: In 2014 Yoder was the Volleyball Magazine National Freshman of the Year, ranking sixth in kills in the nation. He led Southern Cal in kills as a freshman, junior and senior, and ended his career with 1,032 kills.
Personal: Yoder was a Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 member in high school. Yoder's dad, Dave, was an outside hitter for USC who played on three NCAA runner-up teams and his sister, Molly, was a libero at UC-Irvine. His uncle, Bob, was an All-American volleyball player who won a national championship both as a player and a coach at USC. He has three cousins that played collegiate volleyball at USC; Erin, Paul and Jack, while his cousin Cory was an All-American at UC-Irvine.
