She was the team captain as a junior. Born in Ohio, Langston prepped in Memphis, where she was first-team all-state and MVP of the regional tournament in leading her team to a state runner-up finish. In addition to volleyball, she won six state championships in track and field and set nine school records. In 1988-2000 she was a national equestrian finalist. A member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, she graduated high school in just three years.
