Beach Bits:
• In the first two FIVB events of 2011, Fendrick and Niles advanced from the qualifier to place fourth. In those two events, the duo combined to defeat seven top-10 teams, including five seeded sixth or higher. • Fendrick's first career main draw match win came in the 2003 Manhattan Beach Open, and entering the 2009 season three of her nine best finishes had come in the Manhattan Beach Opens. • In 2008 Fendrick defeated eight teams seeded ninth or higher, while in her career before that point she had a total of three wins over teams seeded ninth or higher.
2012: Fendrick and Niles played in nine FIVB events, with a best of ninth. In the season finale in Thailand, Fendrick teamed with Nicole Branagh and placed fourth. Domestically Fendrick and Niles played in three tournaments with a best of second, and partnered with Rachel Scott in four events, with a best of second. 2011: Fendrick and Niles began the year by winning the first NORCECA event in the Cayman Islands. The duo then advanced from the country quota and qualifier to reach the semifinals in the FIVB season opener in Brasilia. In the next tournament in Shanghai, the duo again advanced from the qualifier to reach the semifinals. For the season, the duo played in 14 events, placing fifth three times after the first two events. They ended the year ranked 10th in season points on the FIVB Tour. The duo won a Norceca event, and domestically they won three titles on three different tours. 2010: Fendrick and Ivy began the season with a pair of fifth-place finishes in their first five AVP events, both of which tied Fendrick's career domestic best. On the FIVB Tour the duo lost in the country quota in the first two Grand Slams, then in the next two Grand Slams they advanced from the qualifier and from pool play. Fendrick then began a partnership with Brooke Hanson Niles, and the duo placed fifth in Long Beach in the AVP season finale. Fendrick and Hanson played six FIVB tournaments together, with a best of ninth in Sanya. 2009: Fendrick continued playing with Ivy on the FIVB Tour, and they began playing on the AVP Tour as well. In 12 AVP tournaments, the duo placed fifth three times, equaling Fendrick's career best domestically, including in Brooklyn after knocking off the top seeded team. All 12 AVP events resulted in top-10 finishes. On the FIVB, Fendrick and Ivy had a ninth in Klagenfurt after advancing from the qualifier, their highest Grand Slam finish. They advanced to the semifinals in the season finale in Phuket despite losing their first-round match, marking the career best for Fendrick. 2008: Played all but one AVP tournament with Paula Roca, and the duo twice in the last three events finished fifth, including in Manhattan Beach after knocking off three top-10 seeded teams. Fendrick played five international events with Ashley Ivy, winning two Satellite events, then registering a fifth and two sevenths on the FIVB Tour to conclude the season. 2007: Started the year playing the first seven events with Brittany Hochevar, equaling her career best of seventh. In the final six tournaments she played with three different partners, getting a pair of sevenths with Tammy Leibl, including the Manhattan Beach Open, and a ninth with Holly McPeak. Fendrick was ninth in kills per game (6.68) and 10th in blocks per game (.79). 2006: Following a year off, her 11 tournaments came with five different partners. She had her career best of seventh in Manhattan Beach in her only event with Tatiana Minello. Fendrick ended the season ranked eighth in kills per game (6.66). 2004: Played with four different partners in her 10 events, with a best of ninth alongside Nicole Branagh. 2003: Fendrick began her pro beach career playing seven events with three partners. In her first three tournaments she was unable to emerge from the qualifier, marking the only three times in her career she hasn't made the main draw.
Indoor Volleyball: Following her college career, Fendrick played professionally in Puerto Rico and Turkey.
College: Fendrick played collegiately at UCLA, where she was on the Pac-10 all-freshman team in volleyball as well as being a reserve pitcher on the NCAA runner-up softball team. She was honorable mention all-Pac-10 the next three years, in addition to garnering Academic All-America honors those three years. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Communication Studies.
Personal: In high school Fendrick was a three-sport athlete who was the North County Times Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In the summer of 1998, she was the kill leader while playing on the USA Volleyball Youth National Team. Fendrick currently has one semester left at USC Law School.
