Fuamatu-Anderson had a long-standing partnership with Heidi Ilustre, as the two played 43 events together which at the time ranked fifth for most domestic tournaments as a partnership. In 2005, Fuamatu-Anderson ranked 10th in aces (64).
A four-year starter at Hawaii-Hilo, she was chosen as the NAIA Player of the Year in 1993. She was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Year in 1994 and 1995, and was a first-team AVCA All-American in 1995 as a senior. She graduated with a degree in Psychology. In 2001, she was inducted into the UH-Hilo Hall of Fame.
Since graduating college, Fuamatu-Anderson has served as assistant volleyball coach at Chaminade University, where the head coach was her coach in high school and assistant coach in college. Fuamatu-Anderson also coached the Side Out Men's BB Volleyball team to a 1999 national championship.
Fuamatu-Anderson, who is of Samoan descent, married Josh Anderson in February 2003. One of 11 children, she began playing volleyball at the age of 12. She had two brothers who played football at the University of Hawaii, and two who played at the University of Utah (both of whom went on to play professionally). Her younger sister is on the Chaminade volleyball team.
