College: Montoya played in five matches as a setter in her freshman season at Kentucky Wesleyan.  She then transferred to Florida Southern to play beach volleyball.  In her first season there she went 6-16 alongside Makena Wilson on court one.

Personal: Montoya has two brothers, Tyler and Jordan.  In high school she competed in both volleyball and swimming, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  She finished 16th in the state in swimming.
