College: Stivrins was a middle blocker at Nebraska, which played in three National Championships and winning in her freshman season. As a sophomore she was a first-team All American while hitting .421, which was the third highest in school history. Stivrins was a second team All American her junior season, then in a shortened senior season she was again named first team, becoming Nebraska's first middle blocker in 15 years to earn three such awards. With the extra senior campaign, she surpassed 1,000 kills and 500 blocks in her career, the second Husker to do so in the rally scoring era. Stivrins left the school fourth in career hitting percentage (.378), fifth in blocks (563) and 13th in kills (1,259) while tied for the NCAA record with 24 NCAA Tournament matches played.
Personal: Stivrins' father, Alex, played basketball at Creighton and Colorado and then for two seasons in the NBA, the CBA, as well as professionally in Spain, Italy and Japan. In high school Stivrins was ranked as the No. 9 prospect by PrepVolleyball.com.
