College: Flaherty plays both beach volleyball and softball at Florida State. She redshirted her freshman season in beach volleyball, then as a sophomore she had a 4-2 record alongside five different partners. As a junior she finished with a 9-5 record on courts three, four and five, playing with three different partners.

Personal: Flaherty comes from a Florida state family, as her mom Angela and her father Mark both went there, as did her brother and older sister Devyn, who played softball for the nationally ranked Seminoles. In high school Flaherty played both indoor and beach volleyball in addition to softball. She earned All-Area honors three times indoors and was the state runner-up in beach volleyball on court one.
