College: As a middle blocker at Cal State-Northridge, Ratajczak became the tallest player to ever appear in an MPSF match. He was a second-team All-American as a junior and first-team as a senior. In 2010 he led the Matadors to its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 17 years, with the team advancing to the Final Four. He left the school as the all-time leader in hitting percentage (.457).
Personal: Ratajczak was born in Warsaw, Poland and is an only child. He went to high school in Long Island City, New York.
