Born in Geneva, Chevallier currently resides in Bern and is a student at the University of Fribourg. Chevallier began playing volleyball in 1996 with a transition to the beach in 2005. His parents (Philippe and Martine Chevallier) are both teachers. He has a younger brother (Gaetain).
