Beach Bits:

• In San Francisco 2017 Ratledge, playing with Eric Zaun, reached his first AVP semifinal in what was his 139th AVP tournament, the second most tournaments played without reaching a semifinal.
• Ratledge was ranked in the top 10 in blocks per game each season from 2004-08, one of just three players to accomplish that (with Matt Fuerbringer and Jake Gibb).


2017: Ratledge formed a partnership with Eric Zaun, and the duo played in seven AVP tournaments with a best of third, and one time with Reid Priddy. He finished the season ranked sixth in hitting percentage (.446).
2016: Ratledge played six events with four different partners, getting a best of ninth twice. He played twice with Ty Loomis, once with Dave McKienzie, once with Derek Olson, and twice with Adam Roberts.
2015: Ratledge played four times with Will Montgomery and twice with Jason Lochhead, with a best of ninth with both players.
2014: In five AVP events Ratledge finished ninth four times. He played once with Ryan Mariano, once Mark Burik, twice with Will Montgomery, and once with Pedro Brazao.
2013: Ratledge played four times with Matt Olson, getting a best of seventh place, and played one event each with Kevin McColloch and Billy Allen.
2012: Ratledge and Mariano had two seventh-place finishes on the AVP Tour, and had a best of third place twice on the Cuervo Tour.
2011: In nine domestic events on three different tours, Ratledge and Mariano had a best of third twice, including in Manhattan Beach.
2010: In a repeat of the 2009 season, Ratledge and Mariano had a best of fifth in the season opener and added three seventh-place finishes.
2009: Ratledge and Mariano played in 14 AVP events, with a best of fifth in the season opener. The duo also had three seventh-place finishes, including in Manhattan Beach.
2008: Playing with Mariano the whole season, the duo placed fifth twice and seventh eight times as Ratledge chalked up his first season ranked in the top 20 in season points. He was fourth in kills per game (7.34) and eighth in blocks per game (1.63). 
2007: Split the season with two partners, Albert Hannemann and Ryan Mariano. In his second event with Hannemann he placed fifth, the third time he finished that high. In seven events with Mariano, he had a best of seventh place, in the season finale. Ratledge was seventh in blocks per game (1.61).
2006: After one event with Adam Roberts, played the next nine tournaments with Ty Loomis. Equaled his career best with a fifth-place finish in Tempe. Ended the year with four events with Jason Lee. He was sixth in hitting percentage (.459) and ninth in blocks per game (1.44).
2005: Played 12 events with six different partners. Ratledge had his season best finish, ninth place, with Aaron Wachtfogel, his partner for five tournaments. He ended the year ranked 10th in blocks per game (1.45).
2004: Playing with Mowrey all season, Ratledge logged a new career best with a fifth place in Tempe. He was seventh in both blocks per game (1.64) and kills per game (7.06).
2003: Competed with two different players in his first three events, with a best of 13th. He reunited with Mowrey for the final five tournaments, and logged his then-career best in Manhattan Beach with a seventh-place finish.
2002: Began the year with a pair of events alongside Chuck Moore, with a best of 17th. Then he partnered with David Fischer for four tournaments, placing 17th each time.
2001: Played five times, all with Chris Kosty, placing 25th three times.
2000: Began his pro beach volleyball career in Manhattan Beach, playing in the qualifier with Chad Mowrey, placing 33rd.

College: Played at UCLA, where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and was named first-team GTE Academic All-American in 2000. That year UCLA also won the national championship. He set the school record for most kills in a game (21).

Personal: Ratledge was born in Kansas CIty, and has one brother. He is married to Jessica Graham and they have two kids, William and Adeline. He has a Private Pilot/Instrument Rating.
